Clean, well-made candles aren’t a marketing line for us. They’re the only kind we want to make. Below is a clear, specific list of what goes into every Offerings of Worship candle — and what we keep out.
The Wax
0% paraffin
Across the entire line
Our candles are made from a custom coconut soy wax blend — coconut for a clean burn and an even melt pool, soy for a creamy finish and a long, slow release. We don’t use paraffin (a petroleum byproduct), and we don’t use mineral oil. Both are cheaper. Neither belongs in a room you’re trying to make feel like prayer.
The Wick
100% cotton
No metal, ever
Every wick we use is a lead-free cotton wick. No zinc. No tin. No metal cores. A clean cotton wick keeps the flame small, the burn even, and the air in your room free of the soot you’d otherwise be wiping off the ceiling in three months.
The Fragrance
Phthalate-free
Verified by our supplier
We build each fragrance around a mood, then layer top, middle, and base notes that earn their place. All of our fragrance oils are phthalate-free and infused with real essential oils — never synthetic carriers, never shortcuts. The result is a candle that smells layered, not loud.
The Vessel
Zero plastic
Lids, wraps, inserts
Our candles come in amber and clear glass jars, matte ceramic jars, and recyclable aluminum travel tins. All are designed to be reused or recycled. The glass vessels wash clean with warm soapy water; the tins go straight into the recycling bin. We don’t use plastic lids, plastic wraps, or single-use inserts.
Never in our line
Some of these are industry standard. We don’t think they belong in a candle you’re lighting in your home.
Outer Packaging
Our outer cartons are made from FSC-certified paperboard and printed with soy-based inks. The box, the insert, the tissue — all curbside recyclable. We don’t use plastic bubble wrap, plastic mailers, or foam inserts.
Shipping
We pick shipping boxes based on the order, not a single oversized template. We ship via USPS and UPS, both of whom have credible carbon-offset programs. We consolidate orders when we can.
Refills
We’re developing a refill program for our 8 oz amber glass vessels. Send the empty back in a prepaid mailer; we’ll refill and return it. Sign up for The Quiet Letter to be notified when it launches.
We list every ingredient, every compliance mark, and every material down to the wick and the vessel. If you can’t find it, email us and we’ll add it.
